Pilgrim’s Gift Will Help Fund Splash Pad That Will Be Free Admission to Community

A Pilgrim’s gift of $384,000 funded the construction a public splash pad, which celebrated its grand opening May 27, 2022. The splash pad is located between the John Blackwell Sports Complex and Sloss Lake on Highway 24 and can accommodate up to 175 guests.

The splash pad is sports themed and contains a number of features to make it enjoyable, including a dumping bucket shaped like a large baseball. The Pilgrim’s logo and a chicken statue are also featured prominently on the splash pad.

There is no doubt that COVID-19 has taken a toll on Alabamians, but because of strong partners like Pilgrim’s, we are bringing much-needed relief to communities around our state. Pilgrim’s Hometown Strong Initiative is not only helping local communities respond to the ongoing pandemic, but it is also positioning us for a strong comeback and future. I am grateful for Alabama’s collaboration on this initiative and for the strong partner we have in Pilgrim’s. We will overcome this together.
