JBS USA recently contributed $200,000 in Hometown Strong funding toward an affordable housing project in partnership with Habitat for Humanity. This investment will fund construction of two new homes – after which, Habitat will use the mortgage payments to fund additional home-building into perpetuity.

JBS USA is providing an update on how its Hometown Strong funds are being invested in Omaha, Neb. The company has worked closely with local leaders to identify how best to meet immediate and longer-term community needs.

Of the $990,000 investment in the Omaha community, JBS USA contributed $480,000 to make necessary upgrades to the Campos Soccer Complex in South Omaha, which provides space for free Police Athletics for Community Engagement (PACE) youth sports. The renovations included the addition of a concession stand, bathrooms, scoreboards and paved sidewalks.

JBS USA to Invest $250,000 in Grand Island Northwest Public Schools as Part of Hometown Strong Initiative

In July 2020, JBS USA announced a $3.5 million investment in Grand Island, Neb., to support the community’s future through the company’s Hometown Strong program. JBS Grand Island has been working with local leaders and various organizations to determine how the funds can best help meet immediate and longer-term community needs. In partnership with Grand Island Northwest Public Schools, JBS USA will provide $250,000 to renovate the aging Northwest High School auditorium. The renovation will include replacing curtains, track hardware, rigging, seating and carpet; repainting ceilings and walls; and upgrading sound and lighting. In addition to being utilized by elementary, middle and high school students, the auditorium will also be put to good use by many community organizations.

Today, the company announced it is contributing $200,000 to the Grand Island Area Habitat for Humanity to help fund homebuilding for JBS team members. The donation will be used to build two homes and leveraged as JBS team members are accepted into Habitat’s loan program. This is the largest single donation to the organization’s housing program.
